december views: miracles
i think the miracles of this season are
best found in the breaking points. the blurry moments in-between. when
we accept what is and all we don't know. when we actually feel the
bones in our back and the heart beating wings in our chests. when, all
alone, we confess to love what we love. and we allow our burdens to be
witnessed. when the mind stops and the chasm is bridged. when the
urgency fades and it is what it is.
with frosting on our clothes, tears in our eyes, and piles of doings resting in the corner.
flawed and fierce and awed and open. intent and asking. surrendered and soft. enough.
this is when the miracles happen.
happy holidays…wherever you are…i am lighting a candle for you.

This is such a beautiful post which bears special meaning to me. I choose to spend this holiday alone to heal, pray, prepare and renew my strength. My son has a drug addiction and for reasons I have not wanted to understand God placed the decision that will alter his life forever in my hands. A decision to hold him accountable for his actions that very well may send him to prison. I can only imagine the grief of losing a child to death could be worse than this pain. So, as you so beautifully wrote, I pray the miracles are found in the breaking points. Many blessing to you.
