saying yes doesn't always mean that we know what comes next. just that we know to say yes. we reach toward something because it feels there is no other choice but to do so. 

i'm getting it. getting that i've been approaching this next phase of growth in a paradigm that no longer serves me. one where i've placed expectations on the timing of a journey that i've never been on before. and where i have made plans and promises based upon a timeline that assumes what is not known. 

i'm getting that i can only do what i can do. that all of us can only do what we can do. and that moments by the sea are as important to the creative process as the ones where we are pounding madly on the keyboard or filling our hands with the finished products. 

i'm getting that worth is not based on how much i do, or even how fast, but on how well i do it. how much love and soul and care i put into it. how satisfied i am with the truth in what is being created. no matter the time it takes. no matter who even sees it. 

maybe i'm slow on the uptake. 

again, no matter.

there is always time to light a candle, fill a cup of tea, sit back, and change course. 

i don't want to miss december. i want to savor it. 

and, for that reason, i am joining beautiful darlene's december views. a group of  inspiring bloggers who have joined darlene in the joy of taking daily photos in december. a no-pressure, no words necessary, opportunity to pause and capture moments this month. to stop and see things in a month that is both my favorite and the one that often opens a void of the unfinished.

this is the beauty and connection i crave right now. and the soul-filling that i think i need to move more steadily and fully, happily, with everything else. this is a plan, and a process, that isn't tying knots inside of me. 

quite the opposite, i am feeling an untangling just thinking about it.
